Account

There are two accounts used by Virtual Breadboard.

Microsoft Account
-----------------

The Microsoft Account is your regular Windows login account. If you purchase a subscription from the Microsoft Store the subscription information is linked to your Microsoft account. VBB has access to this purchase information and will update your status according to the remaining days left on the current subscription period.

The Microsoft Account is the default account. Using this account is automatic and doesn't require you to register with Virtual Breadboard. We we have no access to your email accounts or other information. The only information we access is your subscription status. 


Virtual Breadboard Developer Account
------------------------------------

The Virtual Breadboard Developer account is managed by Virtual Breadboard cloud services. There are various additional services under development which are accessed by the developer account.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

All previous versions of Virtual Breadboard and Virtual Breadboard licenses are now *EOL* (End of Life) so all lifetime license have expired. However, all previous users who have purchased VBB using paypal email account were notified of VBB account which uses the same email as the paypal purchase. All user accounts with previous VBB licenses are entitiled to the Legacy License Plan which is a permanent subscription to the Legacy Power Up subscription available in the Store. You can recover the license by enetering the correct email and requesting a password reset.
 

Creating VBB Account
--------------------

To create a developer account click the user icon at the bottom left of the Menu navigation.

The account login will appear.

Create Account
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

If you don't already have an account

1. Enter the email to use for the account
2. Enter the password you want to use
3. Click the Sign In / Create Account button

If no account is found with the supplied email then you will receive a popup asking if you want to create a new account. If you don't want an account or entered your account email with a type click 'NO'. If you do want an account to be created click 'YES'.

Verification email
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Once you click 'YES' a verification email will be sent to your email address and you will be shown your new account page with an activation code pending pane.

You can still use the account in **pending activation** mode but to complete the account creation you need to verify the email by locating the activation email sent to your supplied email. 

**It is important to check your JUNK email box** because it is likely the email ends up there.

When you recover the activation code in the email enter it into the Verification Code pane and click **Verify**

When sucessfully validated you will receive a verified toast

Your account will then show the verified tick

Recover Account / Reset Password
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

If you know the email address but not your password you can request the password be reset

1. Enter your email
2. Enter your new password
3. Click **Reset Password**

You will receive a toast notifying that a reset has been requested.

When you receive the verification code you can enter it and click verify to recover your account or reset your email.

VBB Account Login Status
------------------------
 
When logged-in using the Virtual Breadboard account you will see your name from your developer account rather than the generic Microsoft Store.

The number of days of your subscription is either your VBB account subscription or you Microsoft Store account subscription. So you can be logged in as a Virtual Breadboard developer account to access the online services but use the Microsoft Store account for subscription purchases.
